Tuesday will lie to you about whether the agent actually works

A quiet transcript proves nothing. Watch double-book risk, language, VIP, and refund live on a Saturday before you trust the stop.

Tea cups, a lantern, and an appointment book on a desk before a rainy mountain

Tuesday will lie to you. Rowan has air between colour. Mina’s 11:30 is a trim that finished early. Theo is actually at the desk. A transcript from that day looks like a product demo: the agent offered a time, the guest said yes, nobody collided. Saturday does not give you that air. Rowan is in a combo. Voss is at the door and will not hold. The line still rings. The 1:30 falls off in the parking lot. Harper texts, and Harper is a VIP. Suki wants a refund on a fill that lifted. If you cannot see the tool call while those things are happening, you will find the double book on Monday, when the people are already in the chairs.

Watching an AI agent on a busy Saturday is not reading a weekly PDF. It is sitting with the run: the plan, the arguments, the result, and whether the thread is live, done, or handed off. The four things an owner should watch live are double-book risk, language, VIP, and refund. Everything else is downstream. A quiet Tuesday is for proving the stop is wired. Saturday is for proving it holds when the floor is full.

This is for operators who already lose the walk-in and the after-hours call because nobody can leave the chair. Nail, hair, spa, a clinic book, a restaurant book, a crew already out. A one-chair shop that already answers every ring, including after close, does not need this watch. A team shopping for a new POS is in the wrong aisle.

Tuesday will lie to you

A Tuesday transcript hides duration. who_is_open returns Mina at 11:30 because she is actually open. book_visit writes. Status: done. You go home thinking the job works. Saturday at 11:05, Mina is still in colour, a web form asks for a cut with her at 11:30, and the same call has to return no slot. If it pads, you have two bodies. If you only read the SMS, you will see a polite “see you at 11:30” and miss the lie.

Tuesday also hides the second thread. Theo can watch one inbox when three texts land in an hour. Saturday at lunch he is off the desk, Vietnamese for Rowan next week, English for a 3:00 with Mina, Adele moving a Thursday colour, and a walk-in at the door. Each run has to call who_is_open. Each has to end done or handed off. None of them get to sit in a voicemail. If you were going to discover that the agent cannot see the floor, it will be here, not on Tuesday at 9:15.

The companion instinct is to watch later. Do not. Later is how Theo and Recovery both work the same 1:30 hole. Later is how Harper waits on a script because nobody saw handed off. The watch is the go-live gate, not a training video.

What you have to see while it happens

A run you can staff has four parts on one screen.

The plan is the job on this thread, not a personality. Front desk may answer, check who is open, and book. Recovery may fill a hole. Reputation may ask once, after the visit is actually done. Rebooking may put the next visit with the same person. Floor may show who is free. None of them do the others’ work unless you staffed it that way. On Saturday at 10:12 the plan should be narrow: book Rowan for a combo at 2:00 if chair 3 is actually open. Without that bound the agent chats. With it you can score the run.

The tool call is how you know it is on the book and not on a guess. You watch the name, the arguments, and the result, on the same run as the SMS. If you only see the message, you are watching a chatbot.

Status is how Theo acts. Live: the job is running, do not duplicate it, you can still stop it if Voss sits down on that chair. Done: the job finished inside its bound. Handed off: a person owns it now. Anything else is a fail. “Resolving” that sits while Voss leaves. A silent error while the agent says Saturday at 2 is open and Floor shows Rowan in a service.

One inbox. Voice, SMS, and web on one thread against one book. Three apps is how the desk sees a text and the tech sees a voicemail and Harper waits in the gap.

Covered salon chairs in cool daylight, the floor the agent has to read
Saturday is chairs that cannot stack. If the agent cannot see who is still in colour, it will promise that chair.

Double books, language, VIP, refund

Those four are the Saturday scorecard. Watch them live, in that order, because they fail in that order.

Double-book risk is who_is_open versus the floor. At 9:02 the floor has to show Rowan with a client. If the agent cannot see that, it will promise her at 9:10. At 9:40 Voss is at the door. Theo seats him on Mina. The agent must see that chair go live or the next SMS double-books Mina. At 10:12 a missed ring wants a combo with Rowan at 2:00. who_is_open has to confirm combo duration, not a single fill, then book_visit writes the chair. At 11:05 Mina is still in colour. who_is_open returns no slot for 11:30 with her. The agent offers someone who is actually free, or it tells the truth about a wait. It does not pad.

Language is the thread they used, not the template. Adele writes in Japanese. The reply stays in Japanese. The run still has to show in English, or whatever Theo reads, so he can staff a stop. A Saturday that only works in English fails as soon as the second language hits, which on a busy floor is before noon. Two languages at the desk are a named constraint. They are not a nice-to-have you turn on after go-live.

VIP is a stop you can see. Harper texts. The card is a hold. Front desk reads the stop before it offers a time. Status flips to handed off. Theo takes the thread in the same inbox, voice or SMS, without hunting a voicemail box. If handed off does not page a person, the stop is theatre. Owner friends, named holds, anyone Imani would not want a script talking to, belong on that list from the listen week. Saturday will try to talk the agent past it because Harper sounds like any other text.

Refund is the other stop. Suki texts that the fill lifted and she wants her money. The agent does not litigate, does not offer a next visit, and does not ask for a Google review. Status: handed off. Same person who owns disputes. If Suki already handed off this morning, the agent reads the earlier handoff and does not reopen it. A review ask mid-service, or after a fight, is a Saturday fail of a different agent. Do not staff reputation on the same watch until front desk holds.

The hole sits next to the double book. Rowan cancels from the car at 1:28. Recovery fills that duration on chair 3, texts the waitlist once, and skips Harper, who is a Rowan hold at 3:30. Theo sees the run close so he does not also phone the list. Square, Vagaro, Mindbody, Zenoti, and OpenTable all document waitlists. Those lists live in the calendar. They do not skip a hold. How spas fill cancels without double-booking is that job on a room book.

How to sit a Saturday

Imani sits this, or Theo does. A tech who cannot leave the chair is the wrong watcher. You keep a person on the floor. The agents take overflow. That split is the whole point of Does an AI receptionist replace the front desk.

Bring last Saturday’s holes. Hours you actually answer. Languages. Who is VIP. Combo versus fill. Chairs that cannot overlap.

Staff one job before you watch five. Usually the line. How to add an AI receptionist to a six-chair salon is the staffing companion, and AI receptionist for salons on Vagaro or Square is the first job on a growing hair book. Recovery waits until the 1:30 hole is the next pain. Reputation and rebooking wait until visits are finishing well.

Then you sit. From 9:00 to 2:00 will still teach you more than a Tuesday. Every run that touches the book gets a look.

  1. At open, confirm Floor shows who is with a client and who is free, with duration left. If it cannot, stop. You will double-book by 9:40.
  2. On the first missed ring, read the plan before the first tool call. Combo duration, named tech, stop if it is a hold.
  3. Watch who_is_open arguments and the result. Fail if it returns Rowan while Floor shows her in a service.
  4. Watch book_visit land on the calendar you already run. Fail if it writes a combo into a fill gap, or a time the POS will reject.
  5. When a VIP or a refund hits, confirm status is handed off and that a named person actually has the thread. If it keeps talking, it is not live.
  6. When a hole opens, confirm Recovery texts once and skips the hold. Confirm Theo does not also call.

If it books the wrong person, talks past a handoff, or hides a tool call, it is not live. Keep Vagaro, Square, Booksy, Zenoti, Mindbody, or OpenTable. Checkout stays. The gap is around the calendar.

After close the line still rings. After-hours voice is the same front-desk job. Adele wants Sunday morning with a colourist. who_is_open against Sunday. book_visit if the chair is real. A voicemail is not a book. The Saturday watch includes that last hour, because that is when Tuesday’s calm is most misleading.

The last hour is still the front-desk job. A voicemail is not a book.

What a quiet Tuesday is for

Use Tuesday to prove the stop is real before you add Saturday load. A VIP should hand off when the book is empty, or it will not hand off when Theo is seating Voss. A refund should hand off. A language thread should stay in that language. A next-visit offer should stay quiet if they already have a date.

Tuesday is also where you learn the tools by name so Saturday is not the first time you see them.

who_is_open. Argument: service, duration, provider or room, day and time. Result: the person or room that is actually free, or no slot.

book_visit. Argument: client, service, provider, time, chair or room. Result: on the calendar you already run.

waitlist. Argument: the hole, the duration, who to skip. Result: one text to the next body who can take it.

send_review_ask. Argument: the completed visit, the language they used. Result: one ask. Fail if it asks after Suki’s dispute, or asks twice, or asks in English when the guest wrote Vietnamese.

A vendor who cannot show arguments and results is asking you to trust a transcript. What to test on an AI receptionist demo is the same proof on a thirty-minute call: a missed ring, an empty slot, a thread that should hand off. Bring last Saturday’s holes. Leave the generic deck at home.

Size changes the watch, not the test. A six-chair floor is the default in this piece. A spa swaps chairs for rooms. A restaurant swaps chairs for tables and OpenTable still owns the map. A field crew swaps the floor for dispatch, and who_is_open becomes who can take the next slot without stacking two jobs on one tech. Three doors means you watch Saturday at each door or you watch a false average. A no-show at door one does not fill a chair at door two unless you say it should.

After you have watched one

You keep it or you do not. Days, not a year-long rollout. Then you add the next job the same way. Staff Recovery. Watch the next Saturday’s 1:30 cancel. Same inbox, same floor.

LLDTEK is the platform those agents sit on, beside the book you already run. Front desk, recovery, rebooking, reputation, floor. You do not start with five because a slide had five icons. You do not write prompts. The desk person still owns VIP, disputes, and judgment. The agent covers overflow. No public price. The demo is thirty minutes against your book, with the Saturday holes in the room.

Write the stop list during the week you listen, staff it into the job, and watch it fire on Saturday. If it does not fire, it is not live. If you cannot see the tool call, you cannot staff the stop. That sentence is the whole piece.

Questions

Questions owners ask about the watch

A job, a plan, tool calls with arguments and results, and a status of live, done, or handed off. The person on the floor sees it in one inbox with the channel and the language. A chat log or a voicemail is not a run.
